The cabins are heated by a wood stove. During the summer there are canoes and kayaks for your use or rent one of our many motorboats. In winter you can set your traps and watch them from the screened-in porch. These cabins are non-smoking cabins. For a change of pace, make reservations for breakfast or supper. During the summer, produce is fresh from the garden. All our breads and pastries are home-made. So whatever the meal, something good is always cooking. WINTER CABINS These cabins are new, unfortunately during the winter, water is an issue. Two new out houses have replaced the bathrooms in the cabins. There are 2 full bathrooms in the front of the main lodge that are for cabin guests to use. We bring water to the cabins each day for the kitchen sink. Wood box is also filled each day.The cabins are well insulated and heat very well with either the wood stove or propane heater. LARGE GROUPS One cabin has been set up for larger groups and in the winter the front porch is enclosed to provide a large gathering/dining area. If you're renting 2 cabins make sure this is one of them! SNOW SLEDDING Over the past 3-4 years not too many places in Maine had good deep snow............WE DID! Not sure what this winter will be, based on the past, it should be good if not better! We groom from the lodge to the parking area for easy travel and hauling gear. Never know how many miles to and from, it changes year to year with the logging operations in the area. We have mapped out hundreds of miles of wilderness trails. We try to get on them as soon as possible to check for "passability". You can ride all day up here and not cut another track........sled track that is! Go see the old tramway up on Chamberlain/Eagle Lake, take a cruise up to Caucomgomoc Dam.........trails everywhere..........no ITS here! GASOLINE AND FOOD We have gas available for our guests and meals for anyone who stops in on the weekends. If you're a large group, please call ahead. |
